I drew 12 cards for my first Tarotscope of 2022 from the 22 cards of the Major Arcana. I wanted to provide an indication of the energy collaborating with you in taking you forward into the New Year.

ARIES: (Mar 21 - Apr 20) “The Wheel of Fortune”
Out with the old and in with the new so saying goodbye and hello will keep you busy this month. Use this energy to begin the year with a “clean slate.” Work to get rid of any unhealthy habits you have fallen into over the past year particularly those related to lifestyle choices. Consider the people in your life who take and never give anything in return. Time to block and/or delete? Job/career shifts are well starred so take advantage this month if this is something you have been thinking about for a while. Clear the way for the wheel to turn in your favour by playing your part in promoting the best path forward.
TAURUS: (Apr 21 - May 21) “Justice”
Finally, justice rules in your favour this month Taurus in anything that has been weighed and found wanting. Relationships, legal matters, mediation, monetary issues will be resolved quickly and once for all. The release this brings will enable you to begin the healing process mentally, emotionally, and perhaps even physically, at long last. It may have been a long, distressing journey to get to this point but now you can look to creating the future you dream of. Do not be too hard on yourself with recriminations as what is done is done and nothing will be served by overthinking the past. Time to focus your time and energy forward and what can and will be accomplished in the coming months.
GEMINI: (May 22 - June 21) “Death”
The theme song from the animated film “Frozen” springs to mind with this card lovely Gemini. You know the one, “Let it go, let it go, let it go…” “Death” offers you the gift of freedom to begin again using the lessons taught you by 2021. This card offers a cleansing of your spirit, a forgiveness for what has gone before and an opportunity to confront and overcome any fears preventing you from being who you truly wish to be. A chance to be true to yourself and nobody else. This is a gift of rebirth, of reinventing yourself, should you wish to do so. The choice is yours and yours alone.
CANCER: (June 22 - July 22) “The Lovers”
Relating to a relationship this card bodes well for progress, for commitment, long-term plans being made, moving in together, endless positive possibilities for you and a loved one to plan and enjoy. News of an engagement or upcoming wedding will be received and celebrated. Alternatively, this card could be asking that you love and trust yourself more if you have issues of low self-esteem or self-confidence. Not to be too quick to scuttle into your wee crab “shell” at the first tentative approach by a potential love interest, or friendly overture by a new acquaintance. Give them, and you, a chance to see how things go and you may just be very pleasantly surprised.
LEO: (July 23 - Aug 21) “The Moon”
You may be asking yourself why it is that you feel so discombobulated (now there’s a word) at the beginning of a year you hoped would be better than the previous one Leo. However, it could be that you are unable or, could it be, unwilling to pay attention to what is right under your nose so to speak. Of course, what worries you will always appear much worse at night, disturbing/disrupting your sleep. If you are suddenly prone to vivid dreams which feel real to you even when you wake in the cool light of day, then it could be that the answer to your problem lies in just such a dream. Allow yourself to “go with the flow” while dreaming as this may lead to an “aha” moment which makes perfect sense upon waking.
VIRGO: (Aug 22 - Sep 23) “The Hierophant”
January may be the month Virgo when you determine that this year will involve a course of study, determining a path towards greater knowledge, reaching out to a mentor, teacher, instructor. A month when you are consumed with planning and arranging a course of action which could lead to you gaining skills using the written word. Enthusiasm and determination will propel you forward once you have researched and committed to a path promising to take you to where you wish to be, or at least closer to, where you see yourself this time next year. Your wisdom and advice may be sought by others who value your wise counsel in settling a dispute or, alternatively, helping them find the path forward which is right for them.
LIBRA: (Sep 24 - Oct 23) “The Hermit”
A need for introspection begins the year for you Libra which, acknowledging your ability to think logically and non-judgementally, should prove easy. To follow the advice of this wise man, strive to spend some quality time alone. Note the word “quality.” Get comfy where you feel happiest indoors. Light a few candles and your favourite incense to promote a sense of peace and tranquillity. Focus on the light of the candles. Allow your mind to drift to the year just gone. What, who or where, made you happiest, saddest, or angriest? Then, turn your mind and focus to what you wish to manifest in the coming months. Create the scenario in your mind. Send your wishes out to the Universe. Make your intentions work for you. You have the potential to be a guiding light for others struggling in the darkness so keep your focus.
SCORPIO: (Oct 24 – Nov 22) “The Magician”
The first month of 2022 holds great promise for you Scorpio if you resist the temptation to self-sabotage. There is no shame in self-promotion, indeed, how are those meant to benefit from your “magic” going to find you if you neglect to advertise your wares? Like a moth to a flame, they will come if you shine brightly and positively where those most in need of your particular skills gather. This month gifts you the “Midas touch!” Take advantage while you can. Amass all you need to support and succour you for the rest of the year. Financial security is guaranteed at least for 2022.
SAGITTARIUS: (Nov 23 - Dec 22) “The High Priestess”
Personal growth can be yours Sagittarius especially around spiritual progression. If you already follow a spiritual path or wish to begin your spiritual journey in 2022 then have faith that much can be accomplished this year. However, this may ask that you forsake the company of others and pursuits that may take up too much of your time, in order to commit to the path meant for you at this time. Seek out others on the same path to accompany you and, as you learn from them, they, in turn, will learn from you. It is normal to feel a wee bit tentative about stepping into the unknown for those of you beginning this journey but, by trusting that a Higher Power has deemed this the right time for you to set off, all will be well as you travel step by step towards enlightenment.
CAPRICORN: (Dec 23 - Jan 20) “The Star”
Have you suffered greatly in the year just gone dear Capricorn? I feel you have been buffeted and tossed around by the challenges and struggles of an ill wind which has left you wounded mentally and emotionally. The good news is that, for the first month of 2022, you have been granted the gift of healing by this beautiful card. The process of restoring and replenishing your faith in yourself and your fellow humans began at the stroke of midnight on the 31st of December 2021 and will continue unabated until it completes at the same time on the 31st of January 2021. You may feel slightly out of “sync” at times, experience lowness of mood or be lethargic. This is part of the healing process and will pass if you allow them to reach a natural conclusion.
AQUARIUS: (Jan 21 - Feb 19) “The Hanged Man”
If you spent the latter part of 2021 running about like a headless chicken Aquarius expect to be brought to a sudden halt this month by circumstances out with your control. Do not fight it as this is for your own good, you hear? In fact, you may enjoy this unexpected hiatus and what it gifts you in the way of catching your breath and taking time to just “smell the roses.” Someone or something may have frantically been trying to catch your attention for some time but, busy bee that you were, failed to stay still long enough to notice. However, there is no excuse now my friend. Looking at someone or something from a different point of view gives you greater insight and perspective into what you need to do before February is upon you.
PISCES: (Feb 20 - March 20) “The Empress”
To make the best use of your time in January Pisces, get out your 2022 Planner and begin filling it with the goals you hope to achieve over the next 11 months. Planning ahead will save you valuable time in the future. Make this year the year you accomplish “it!” The dream you have held within you forever, the unrequited wish, realising your potential…the list goes on. For some of you this could be the month you finally conceive a longed-for child and experience the magic of creation. This card speaks of fulfilment in an area of life. There is also the promise of abundance, contentment, and peace. Reconciliations are prominent and happiness regarding family, friendships, and relationships. A lovely start to a brand-new year.
